The Reception

The reception will take place on Saturday, May 3 at Columbia Station in Phoenixville, Pa. Cocktail hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. and end at 6:30 p.m., at which time dinner will be served. The reception will end at 10:30 p.m. DJ Smoky will provide entertainment.

If you're thinking that Columbia Station looks like a train station, that's because it once was. Columbia Station is located on the site of the former Phoenixville Station of the Philadelphia and Reading Railroad, which was founded in 1833 to haul coal from Reading to Philadelphia.

Today, Columbia Station is fully renovated and, although the train tracks are gone, it still has a completely restored life-size caboose that sits next to the garden out front.

  • The Fountain Inn in Phoenixville was the farthest point inland reached by the British in the Northern Colonies during the Revolutionary War.

  • Neal Olkewicz, a linebacker for the Washington Redskins who owns two Super Bowl rings, was born in Phoenixville on January 30, 1957.
